From forecaster Angie Pendergrass
Big picture: The low should be inland by now, and high pressure should prevail through the weekend.
Expect brisk wind! There shouldn’t be any big systems at least through the weekend. There might be some systems next week.
Today’s winds should be northwest at or under 10 kts until mid day, then increasing to 10 to 20, and sticking there through Saturday morning. These will be headwinds for you! Much of the time you’ll also have a good bit of fetch ahead of you too, so it will probably get wavy. In the middle of Georgia Strait there could be gusts up to 35 kts Friday evening through early Sat AM, according to the WRF model. Inside of Texada island you should find a bit of protection from the wind. But only a bit.
The wind should calm down Saturday afternoon and switch to brisk following winds from the southeast by Sunday morning as the high moves to your east. But the following winds should be less gusty.
You should see the pressure rising as the high builds and moves in. It should fall again once the high passes and before the winds switch Sunday!
