Weekend Forecast

Current conditions:
A stationary front far to the south is causing rain from Kansas to the East Coast, but conditions are clear and sunny with temperatures in the mid-50s in IA/IL with winds of 5 to 10 mph from the NE.

Short term forecast:
Clear conditions should persist through the next day or so as surface high pressure dominates, which will allow temperatures to fall near freezing overnight. Tomorrow should be very similar to today with winds turning to easterly or southeasterly and slackening.

Long term forecast:
Enjoy the nice weather while it lasts! A surface low will develop in SEern Colorado Sunday, bringing rain to the area as it deepens and moves to the NE. Winds should stay light from the SE until midday Monday, when they will shift to the NW and strengthen. Rain remains possible through Tuesday.

Winds: Around 5 mph from the N to NE
Clear skies and light winds = cold weather.

Saturday, October 11
High: upper-50s
Low: mid- to upper-30s
Winds: Light and variable
Clear conditions continue through the day.

Sunday, October 12
High: upper-50s
Low: mid-40s
Winds: 5-10 mph from the SE
Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers in the afternoon. Little accumulation is expected.

Columbus Day
High: upper-50s
Low: mid- to upper-40s
Winds: 5-10 mph from the SE, switching to NW in the afternoon with wind speeds increasing into the overtnight.
Rain likely throughout the day with totals probably exceeding an inch.

Tuesday, October 14
High: mid-50s
Low: low- to mid-40s
Winds: Strong (~20 mph) from the NW, beginning to weaken overnight.
Rain should continue into the afternoon, finally letting up in the evening. Rain totals could exceed another half inch.
