Current Conditions:
Clear skies, with highs today in the upper 70s. Winds today were light.
Short-Term Forecast:
High pressure will continue to dominate your area through Thursday, but a weak cold front will move through the region early on Friday. Winds will be weak to moderate from the south through Friday and should then weaken heading into the weekend. NWS has a high likelihood of thunderstorm or shower activity on Friday night, so that will be something to keep an eye on. SPC has a 5% chance of severe weather for southern Minnesota and northern Iowa. It may seem small, but that’s for any severe weather occurring within 10 miles of any point. The ability for strong thunderstorms to form looks pretty likely. I would encourage making sure you’re sheltered well that night. Maybe you’ll get to see a good storm!! Take photos! 🙂
Long-Term Forecast:
Once the front passes through, the winds should weaken and skies should clear towards the end of the weekend. It could get pretty cold Monday and Tuesday night, so keep warm!
