The next few days in Lake Itasca will bring a chance of rain and thunderstorms to northwest Minnesota. A low pressure trough brings a chance of light rain and thunderstorms through the area today. Conditions on Saturday should be dry and warm. A rainy cold front will move through in the afternoon and evening of Sunday. Thunderstorms are possible. Once this front has passed, conditions on Monday and Tuesday should be dry, mostly sunny, and with highs in the low-70s and 10-15 knot winds from the west. Good conditions for the start of the OAR Northwest, Adventure: Mississippi River.
Meanwhile, in Seattle near OAR Northwest HQ, it will be overcast and drizzly all weekend. But rain won’t dampen our spirits: the University of Washington American Meteorological Society Student Chapter is excited to start forecasting for this Mississippi River adventure next week!
