OAR Northwest approaches land on a USCG boat after a rescue mission where their ocean rowing boat capsized approximately 850 miles from their Miami destination on Saturday, April 6, 2013. Shown in photo: Adam Kreek, Jordan Hanssen, Patrick Fleming, Markus Pukonen (L to R)

When the boat capsized, Adam and Patrick had concluded a rowing shift and were heading to sleep in the cabin. As the cabin began to fill with water, Patrick tried to push the door open to get out. From behind, Adam pushed him to freedom so that he could find fresh air. Patrick suffered the worst wounds in the process.
