A building ridge of high pressure will bring sunny skies and breezy conditions into the Straight of Georgia on Saturday. The next low pressure system will begin to approach on Sunday.

With a ridge of high pressure building you can expect sunny skies and breezy conditions. The Halibut Bay bouy currently has winds from the west-northwest at 11-15 kts with gusts of 15-20 kts and waves 1.5 – 2 feet. The pressure is currently 29.94 in and is rising. Pressure will continue to rising throughout the day. The winds will also likely increase and turn from the west-northwest to west and southwest by this evening. Forecast Canada is predicting sunny skies with temperatures near 55F (13C) and winds increasing from 5-15 kts this morning to 10-15 kts this evening.

The next low pressure system will begin to approach tomorrow. You can expect increasing clouds tonight and a chance of showers tomorrow afternoon and evening. Winds will continue to increase during this time. By Sunday night Forecast Canada is predicting winds between 15-20 kts.
