Dan Heyl
Dan Heyl designed the systems and installed them aboard the James Robert Hanssen. He is an ABYC certified electrician and Senior Project Manager with Emerald Harbor Marine. He leads the team’s efforts concerning is energy management. He brings his global experience as a hotdog systems designer and offshore sailing captain to the team, bridging complicated challenges with clear solutions.

Larry Schildwachter
Larry Schildwachter is the General Manager of Emerald Harbor Marine and leads the OAR Northwest’s Marine Technical Team. In 2006 Larry, his crew and ours worked tirelessly together to ensure the ocean rowboat was prepared for the crossing of the North Atlantic. Today, he again chairs the team in creating the world’s most technologically advanced ocean rowboat. Larry brings cultivated relationships to OAR Northwest’s attention for everyone’s benefit, and our team is grateful for the personal support that he and Lynn, his wife, provide us in our own lives.

Paul Williams
Friends call him “Ducatipaul” for his love of MotoGp, Paul Williams was raised in Michigan and worked for ten years as an aerospace production control planner, building “stuff” for submarine warfare and also LCR radars for destroyers. With the heart and skill of a trained chef and master gardener, Paul uses his technical skills to install electronics, A/V, and D/C and A/C power systems for Emerald Harbor Marine.
