Get Involved – Volunteers Wanted

Get Involved, Autumn 2011

Marine Tech Workshop Requires Teamwork

OAR Northwest’s vessel, James Robert Hanssen, will undergo a major transformation.  Starting in mid-October, OAR Northwest will offer a hands-on unofficial Marine Technical Workshop which will involve the following:

  • Removal, tagging and categorizing of existing equipment – DONE!!!!
  • Stripping boat down to the hull – DONE!!!!

Then, a future volunteer opportunity will involve:

  • Preparing hull to receive new equipment – Coming Soon!
  • Attaching and integrating new equipment/electronics to hull – Coming Soon!

Essentially, there will be a series of group work/learn days, and our aim is to invite YOU to participate and join the FUN.  Why participate?

  • You’re passionate about our adventure, maritime skills, and teamwork in a workshop
  • The workshop title looks good on resumes and/or college applications
  • You’ll feel good about yourself when supporting OAR Northwest
  • You just need to DO SOMETHING and get off the couch, etc.
