Stories By Jordan
My particular dream besides rowing oceans is travel of any kind. I prefer it by human power but will take it
any way I can get it. I enjoy writing about it and my aspirations as an author are to pursue it with my subject matter as the act of travel and the going, doing and seeing it entails. Since the row I have been on two trips I have written about and got published. My current project, my book on the first ocean row is due out in 2012. It’s my first book and if I did it right you’ll laugh, you’ll cry, and I hope you buy it.
These next articles might give you an idea if my style of story telling is something you might like to hear. Both trips took place in 2008. The first, “The Waterless” is about a trip across Australia by bike and recounts the day my friend and I nearly ran out of water in the Nullarbor.
“An Oariffic Tale”… yeah I know, it’s pretty cheesy… is about a 21 day trip that could probably be its own book. Greg and I took an open rowboat 425 miles around the Olympic Peninsula covering everything from open ocean, swamps and even doing ridiculously stupid things like push it down railroad tracks. This particular story covers a small part of it when the boat swamped as we tried to row out over the breakers. I hope you enjoy them.
