In the coming weeks of the amazing expedition that the crew of the James Robert Hanssen has undertaken, we will be creating education content that parallels the crews experiences. The education portion will be broken into four modules each lasting two weeks.

Every Monday an Expedition Report will be posted here and will detail the past week’s exploits, it will give an introduction of the educational lesson that will also be coming out on Mondays. It will also contain a number of images and videos (hopefully) directly from the boat. The report will also cover the scientific data that has been recorded over the past week and give a summary of the navigation forecast for the upcoming week.

On Tuesdays-Fridays we will be posting daily updates here that are part of the current education module. These posts will answer questions that have been submitted by any of the schools who are following the expedition. They will also be used to address other topics that the crew have experienced. These daily posts will also include fun facts for the students or questions designed to create further exploration of a topic.

This blog is also designed as a collaboration zone for all of the different schools and people who may be interested in these topics. The blog format allows for questions and comments to be posted back and forth between students, teachers, content experts and the crew themselves.
